This is a benefited, full time position working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Hours may vary based on need. Located in Hillcrest at 4060 Fourth Ave, Ste. 330, San Diego 92103. May float to Weight Management (in same office) and assist with Del Mar Clinic as needed. This position has no interface with our hospitals and is heavily administrative.

Your job duties:
- Insurance authorizations with prior authorizations
- Rooming patients, checking vitals
- Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
- Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice
- Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
- Collecting patient data in person and by phone
- Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
- Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
- Scheduling of appointments and procedures
- Complete and accurate message taking
- Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
- Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
- Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
- BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience working as Medical Assistant
- Insurance authorization with prior authorization experience

Minimum Rate (USD): 22.29 - Maximum Rate (USD): 30.58
