POSITION TITLE: Supply Center Operations Lead

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Partners with Procurement and Research Operations teams to expand and maintain the managed inventory (Supply Center) program, while also driving technical and logistical infrastructure improvements to support its growth.
  • Oversees fulfillment and delivery KPIs for Supply Center orders while providing comprehensive support for all Supply Center functions, including material planning, PO maintenance, shipment tracking, final-mile support, and supplier management.
  • Successful execution with strategic suppliers, emphasizing the critical role of research material sourcing. This includes meticulous planning, performance Dashboards, and proactive management to ensure the seamless flow of materials to support scientific endeavors.
  • Collaborates closely with suppliers to reduce costs, improve quality, control inventories, and ensure timely flow of material.
  • Engages with faculty and researchers to facilitate growth and use of the supply center and positive user experience.
  • Independently tackles complex logistics and operational challenges, employing critical thinking, data evaluation, and problem-solving skills to derive effective solutions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in business, life sciences supply chain management related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of life sciences procurement or supply chain experience with demonstrated expertise in logistics and inventory systems.
  • Preferred experience with ERP systems such as Workday and Jaggaer SciQuest, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities for handlung moderate to complex issues, coupled with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • This is an on-campus position requiring 4 days per week working onsite from our La Jolla campus, with flexibility to work 1 day per week remotely from home.

COMPENSATION

The expected hiring range for this position is $75,000 annually to $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
