Job Description

Postdoctoral position - Barrier Materials Lab, within Petroleum Engineering Program in the School of Chemical Engineering at Oklahoma State University is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow to lead experimental studies in the rock-fluid interactions, specifically applying CT-imaging to investigate changes of geo/engineered materials in unconventional petroleum system, which includes fractured shale rock and wellbore cements. Other duties include managing laboratories and equipment, training graduate and undergraduate students, data analysis/presentation, and the preparation of manuscripts and proposals. This is a one-year, full-time research position. This position may be renewed at Oklahoma State University's discretion for up to four-year period based on available funding, college needs, performance review, and various other factors.

Education & Experience

 

Position Qualifications:

 

Required:

Ph.D. in Geological engineering, petroleum engineering, civil engineering or closely related field.

Competence in X-ray microscopy, image analysis, grasp of porous media phenomena related to subsurface rock/fluids interactions, and ability to use materials characterization tools such as SEM/EDS/EBSD, EPMA, XRD, AFM.

Preferred:

Ph,D, in Geological Engineering

Experience in materials science or geology preferred. Strong preference will be given to candidates with strong a publication record.
