The UC San Diego Health Transplant Program is seeking outstanding, highly motivated transplant surgeons with expertise in liver and kidney transplants, living donor nephrectomy, and organ procurement, to join our successful and growing liver and kidney transplant team at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level.
The selected candidates will be responsible for educating trainees-such as students and residents-providing clinical care to patients, and/or conducting research.
The positions do not involve any hepatobiliary surgery.
The appropriate series and appointment will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
Candidates must have a MD, DO or equivalent.
Candidates must be Board certified or Board eligible in General Surgery.
Candidates must also have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
Candidates must have completed an ASTS Transplant Surgery Fellowship by the start of the appointment.
Candidates with 1+ years of experience in organ procurement, normothermic reperfusion, and machine perfusion are preferred.
Candidates with 1+ years of experience in peritoneal dialysis and living donor nephrectomy are preferred.
Candidates with 1+ years of experience working in multidisciplinary teams and effectively collaborating on complex projects are preferred.
Candidates with 1+ years of experience in clinical and/or translational research are also preferred.
