The successful candidate is expected to develop a nationally and internationally recognized research program with both individual and collaborative (multidisciplinary) work. Collaborations are to include fellow academic scientists; industry and government stakeholders; and growers, processors, and entrepreneurs, especially those in North Carolina. The candidate will actively seek extramural funding for their research program and serve in leadership roles on state, local, national, and international committees and boards.
